Aisen ( Spanish: Aisén ) is a commune in Chile . The administrative center of the commune and province of Aisen is the city of Puerto Aisen . The population is 16,936 people ( 2002 ). The city and the commune is part of the province of Aisen and the region of Aisen del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo .

Location
The city of Puerto Aisen is located 53 km northwest of the administrative center of the region of Koyaike .
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the commune of Sisnes
- in the east - with the communes of Koyaike , Chile-Chico , Rio Ibanez
- in the south - with the commune of Tortel
In the west of the commune is the Pacific Ocean .
Demographics
According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 25,011 people, of which 13,255 are men and 11,756 are women.
The population of the commune is 24.91% of the total population of the Aisen del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo region , with 10.1% of the rural population and 89.9% of the urban population.
