Pavol Janik ( Slovak Pavol Janík ; born October 15, 1956 , Bratislava ) is a Slovak poet and playwright , president of the Union of Slovak Writers ( 2003 - 2007 ).

He graduated from the faculty of drama of the Bratislava Academy of Performing Arts ( Slovak. Vysoká škola múzických umení - VŠMU ).
1998 - 2003 and 2007 - 2013 Secretary of the Union of Slovak Writers , 2003 - 2007 its President.
His works have been translated to more than 20 languages and published in more than 30 countries.
