He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bratislava , an educational specialist. Author of nine monographs (mainly on vocational education and retraining). In 2001 - 2002, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of the Ministry of Education of Slovakia. Since 2002 , the director of the Slovak Institute in Moscow has been a cultural adviser to the Slovak Embassy in the Russian Federation. The author of poetry collections “Flax” ( Slovak Ľan , 1981 ), “Valley of the Bees” ( Slovak Údolie včiel , 2001 ), “Prayer with You” ( Slovak. Modlitba s tebou , 2003 , with parallel text in Russian); a separate edition (in the Slovak and Russian translation) was also released the film story “Siberian Quixote and the Skinners” ( Slovak. Sibírsky Kichot a Konedráči , 2003 ). In 2012, he published the Anthology of Russian Poetry in his own translations (Antologia ruskej poezie. Editor a prekladatel Juraj Kalnicky. Ostrava, 2012. / ISBN 978-80-7329-308-6 /).
