History

At different performances, the lineup of speakers is different. Permanent figures are Sergey Letov and music by Ivan Sokolovsky [1] . In June 2006, the MINUS IVAN project performed at the Empty Hills 2006 festival, consisting of Sergey Letov (saxophones, flutes), Oleg Sakmarov (flutes), Asya Belaya and Anya Zhavoronkova (dance, performance).

In April 2005, shortly before the death of Ivan, the only performance of the trio I. Sokolovsky - S. Letov - A. FreeMan took place at the SKIF festival in memory of Sergei Kurekhin . The speeches of the MINUS IVAN project include music by Ivan Sokolovsky (Ambient, Acid Jazz).

Sergey Letov and Ivan Sokolovsky collaborated for over 20 years and recorded several records together. Among them, the latter is a concert album “ Simulated Prison ”, recorded on November 7, 2002 in the Rotunda cultural center, Moscow. The album was published by Sergey Letov in a small print run of 500 copies [1] . Since the album can be purchased either through the Internet or at Sergey Letov’s concerts, many people don’t even know about its existence. Nevertheless, the album “Simulated Prison” and, in general, the idea of such a combination of electronic music with jazz improvisations, which takes place at the MINUS IVAN concerts, deserves much attention among many lovers of both classical and avant-garde music.
