Career
Andrew Hannah, born in Renton, twice played for the local Renton club during his career, and also played for the English Everton and the Scottish Roy Roy. In 1892, John Macken and his partner as manager of Liverpool , William Barclay, invited Hannah to the newly created club. As a right- back, Andrew took part in the first official Liverpool match against Hayer Walton on September 3, 1892 as part of the Lancashire League . The Merseyside Club won this match with a crushing score of 8-0, and at the end of the season celebrated the victory in the tournament. The following year, Andrew became one of the 11 players who had the honor of representing Liverpool for the first time in history in a match of the Football League tournament - on September 2, 1893, the Reds [1] beat Middlesbrough Ironopolis at Paradise Field 2-0. That season, Hannah played 24 out of 28 matches and won the Second Division champion medal with the club.
In total, Hannah played 73 matches for Liverpool, in which he scored 1 goal. He completed his player career at the Scott Roy Rob Roy club in 1897 .
Achievements
- Champion of the Second Division (1894)
- Champion of the Lancashire League (1893)
Notes
- ↑ Strictly speaking, at that time the Liverpool players could not be called “red”, as the team uniform was still the same colors as the Everton blue and white.
