Tyumen Industrial University

The Tyumen Industrial University leads its pedigree from the training and consulting center of the Ural Polytechnic Institute , opened in Tyumen in 1956 , which later became part of the Tyumen Industrial Institute. It happened in 1963 , when the rapid development of the wealth of Western Siberia began . In 1963, it was decided to create in Tyumen a specialized university that trains specialists for the Siberian oil and gas complex. He was led by Associate Professor UPI Kosukhin Anatoly Nikolaevich , a young partisan underground worker in Crimea, and subsequently a professor who was awarded many state orders and medals. He did a lot for the formation and development of the university, until his transfer to Moscow in 1973.

The Tyumen Industrial Institute was established in 1963. At first there were only 2 faculties. Today there are 8 of them. There are about 8 thousand students in the hospital, evening and correspondence departments. The institute has 48 departments, theoretical courses. A large research work is conducted by 595 teachers.

Since 1968, graduate school has been opened at the institute. The students of the institute have the opportunity to study in three spacious halls of the scientific library, which has 370 thousand books and magazines.

The educational television system works at the institute, which allows broadcasting within the institute's building, as well as on air for correspondence students.

A large circulation newspaper “For engineering personnel” is published.

In 1994, the name was changed to Tyumen State Oil and Gas University.

Today, 35 thousand students study at all levels of education. The leading engineering and technical university in Western Siberia offers 36 areas of study in higher education programs (bachelor's degree, specialty), 31 master's degrees, 37 specialties of secondary vocational education, 14 training programs for workers and 8 areas of postgraduate study. Since June 2007, graduates and teachers of Tsogu can receive the European Diploma Supplement.

The structure of the scientific body Tsogu 225 doctors of science, professors, 787 candidates of science, associate professors. Among them are 3 academicians, 4 corresponding members of the RAS and more than 100 full members and corresponding members of the Academies of Sciences, Lenin Prize laureate, 3 State Prize laureates, 7 honored workers of science and technology of the Russian Federation.

Partnerships over the years have connected Tsogu with the largest oil and gas, transport and service companies, such as Surgutneftegas, LUKOIL, Transneft Siberia, Gazprom, Rosneft, Baker Hughes ”,“ Schlumberger ”,“ Halliburton ”,“ CCA DoytagDilling ”,“ Repsol ”and others. To date, the university has signed over 190 cooperation agreements.

The priority in this area is the conclusion of long-term comprehensive agreements providing for the training of specialists with higher education, advanced training of enterprise employees, organizing company days, organizing student practices, and employing graduates. Partner enterprises provide great assistance to the university in updating and modernizing the training and production base - this is the creation of laboratories, classrooms, computer classes, training centers equipped with the latest technology. So, the university has many nominal audiences: Rosneft Oil Company LLC, Transneft Siberia, JSC, LUKOIL OJSC, a specially equipped classroom with the Microsoft IT Academy educational program, Slavneft-Megionneftegaz (SN-MNG OJSC) , Schlumberger and others.

In the oil and gas is an active work of the Joint Council of Students and Students. OSSO members take part in the meetings of the Scientific Council and the administration, are members of the commissions that are working on the creation of local regulatory legal acts. The Council includes more than 20 public associations of social, scientific, military-patriotic orientation. Since 2008, the United Council of Students and Students Tsogu is the best student council in the Tyumen region.

The United Primary Trade Union Organization (OPPO) is a voluntary public association of citizens who are related by common interests by the nature of their activity, created to represent and protect their social and labor rights and interests. Regularly trade union activists become nominal scholars of the OPPO Tsogu and TMO All-Russian Trade Union of Education. There are internal competitions, in which anyone can take part.

The university has a lot of circles, clubs and organizations on interests: the International Club - the inclusion of foreign students in the social, creative, scientific and sports life of the university; Intellectual Club - popularization of the student intellectual movement; Tyumen Student Department of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers at Tsogu (SPE); Barca Neftegaz Military Patriotic Association; StudInformBureau - community of non-professional journalists; engineering design bureau Formula Neftegaz; Student Sports Club "Oil" and much more.

In Tsogu for all forms of education, there are 1,400 foreign students from 32 countries: from near (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, Turkmenistan) and distant (UK, USA, Canada, Germany, China, France, Mongolia) abroad. Especially for foreign participants, additional education programs are being developed, summer and winter, which not only allow you to get acquainted with the traditions and customs of the inhabitants of Western Siberia, increase the level of knowledge of the Russian language, but also learn from the experience of leading experts in the oil and gas industry.

The cooperation of Tsogu with foreign partner universities with the mediation and financial support of interested foreign enterprises in the oil and gas sector is developing more and more actively. These are the programs of “included training” of the Institute of Geology and Oil and Gas Production of Tsogu and the Institute of Oil and Gas Technology of the Technical University of Clausthal (Germany) and the Institute of Geology and Oil and Gas Production of Tsogu and the Institute “Higher School of Mining of the University of Madrid (Spain).

Since June 2007, graduates and teachers of Tsogu can receive a European diploma supplement, a master's degree in PhD postgraduate study. Students and teachers annually become students of foreign courses and internships in the cities of Europe and America.

• The university entered the annual Academic Ranking of World Universities: European Standard (ARES-2014), compiled by the European Chamber of Science and Industry. Tsogu, the only university in the Tyumen region, awarded the highest rating in the category - B (BBB +). Only 10 Russian universities out of 100 ranked received such a rating class ^[8]
