Group History

In the first part of the group there were only 2 members - Anton Zalygin and Yury "Rosehip" Momsin. The duet composed and recorded compositions in the hip-hop style, and soon vocalist Olga Chubarova was invited to record backing vocals . With the advent of Olga, the band's style changed towards the English-speaking funk and disco punk. A little later a live rhythm section was added to the band (Mikhail Zentsov and Sergey Chernov).

Such a composition in 2006 in the home studio of Anton Zalygin was recorded by the psycho Squirell demo album, presented in Samara in September 2006. Shortly after the release of the album, Yuri Momsin left Cheese People for the sake of studio work with other projects.

Gradually, the album "Psycho Squirell" begins to spread among Internet users. It is believed that the first post of Cheese People in the network posted in his blog writer Dmitry Haiduk .

In January 2007, the album hits the Moscow journalist Gleb Lisichkin , who decides to take up management of the group. The group begins to tour extensively in clubs in Russia and the near abroad and to perform at large festivals ( SKIF-11 , Stereoleto-2007 , Be2gether-2008 ).

Over the 2 years of operation, Cheese People gave about 80 concerts in 28 cities in Russia and the near abroad ( Finland , Poland , Estonia , Lithuania , Ukraine , Belarus , Georgia ). The popularity of the group is greatly facilitated by the active free distribution of the album by bloggers, as well as the fact that Cheese People’s songs are broadcast on air in commercials ( M & M’s dragee [1] [2] , “Hello” services from Beeline mobile operator [3] [4] , which features the track “Ua-aa (YoU PiteR & DJ Lvov remix)”, the energy drink “Non-Stop Energy” [5] ), as well as in the TV shows Barvikha on TNT and Margosha on STS . Also, the song “Ua-aa” sounds in the 2008 Rally film.

On September 12, 2008, Moscow's Snegiri label released the first official album, Cheese People , a disc of the same name issued by Australian artist Mark Lynch. [6] The album includes 12 tracks, 11 of which were already on the track list “Psycho Squirrel” (the last track “I hate this sound” was recorded just before the release of the album).

In July 2009, the same album was reissued in Japan by the independent company Wow / Now Records . [7] The Japanese edition has been supplemented with an exclusive remix of the song “Ua-aa!” From the Japanese group Gari . [eight]

February 14, 2013. Cheese People in their community on Vkontakte will present the first part of their new album, Mediocre Ape .

On February 26, 2016, keyboard player Misha Shimarov died from an accident.

On September 7, 2018 the group, after a five-year hiatus, releases a new album, “Pink Color”, which was first recorded entirely in Russian. [9]
