Door hinges - type of hinge hinge ; product for fastening doors to the door frame , providing opening and closing. The classification of door hinges (except for special ones, that is, with additional requirements for fire safety and burglar resistance) in Russia is established by GOST 5088-2005 (the same standard classifies window hinges). Door hinges vary in installation method, opening direction, and weight of the door:

• Screw loops - consist of two small cylinders with screws on the sides. When installing, one of the screws is screwed into the door, and the other into the door frame. Next, the cylinders are mounted one on top of the other. Screw loops are recommended for installation on doors weighing from 20 to 50 kg. In order to not split the door leaf when installing the fasteners, it is necessary that the hinges are not very thin.
• Hinged (overhead) loops - are small plates ("cards") with holes on the sides. When mounting the hinges, one card is attached to the canvas, the other to the door frame.
• Mortise hinges are placed inside the box and door leaf, in specially made recesses.
• Hidden (hidden) hinges are not visible when the door is closed.
• Combined hinges combine different designs in their halves. For example, one half may be mortise, and the other half may be mortise.
• Corner
• Bilateral hinges (also bar, pendulum) allow opening doors on both sides.

Right (upper) and left (lower) doors according to GOST 6629-88

Detachable hinges are divided into left and right, it depends on which side the door will open. According to GOST 5088-2005, the “right” hinges correspond to a door whose shutter closes “counterclockwise”. The figure is contained in GOST 6629-88 ^[1] .

There are also universal hinges that can be used for both types of doors. Universal loops - one-piece; to remove the door with integral hinges, the hinges must be removed.

There are several loop designs:

• Two swing elements with a pin and ball bearing ring;
• Three three-element loops;
• Three two-element loops;
• Semicircular casement elements for the upper loops;
• Scoop loops.
