Biography
Born in 1970 in Tasmania. He spent his childhood in Scotland , England , Wales , Hong Kong and Singapore . After returning to Australia, he graduated from the Royal Military College in Dantroon . He studied at the Royal Thai Military Academy for several years under the exchange program.
Since 1990, he served as an officer in the Australian Airborne Forces , commanded a platoon of paratroopers in the 3rd Airborne Battalion 3RAR. In 1992, after an illness, he was forced to leave military service with the rank of lieutenant .
He wrote 8 books, but not one of them was published. They also did not want to publish the ninth book for a long time, but after its release it instantly became a bestseller . Mane also became known as an artist and cartoonist.
In 2004, he was trained at the cosmonaut training center in Star City as a possible candidate for space tourists, but his height (190 cm) was maximum for astronauts , and his weight was 15 kg more than the maximum possible. During the tests, Mane could hardly fit into the spacesuit, and the centrifuge broke completely during the tests.
Creativity
Mane creates books of a very original genre. These are the so-called photobooks, where on each page there is a black and white photograph of the animal, equipped with the author's philosophical commentary. The texts are written with humor and life wisdom, and the photos are perfectly matched. This style brought Mane worldwide recognition and fame, making him one of the most famous Australian writers.
In total, his books have been published in more than 115 countries with a total circulation of more than 17 million copies.
