Biography
Ethel Woods parents, Samuel Rupert Woods and Lilly Roberts, were actors, and therefore her career began on the theater stage as a child, in 1881. In addition to the theater, Ethel starred in films, playing 90 roles in films and taking part in 10 television series .
Ethel was married twice. Her first husband, Walter Beaumont, died in 1910 , and her second marriage with British actor Edward Cooper lasted from 1917 until his death in 1956 .
One of her most recent roles was in 1963 in Alfred Hitchcock's film Birds , where she played the old bird watcher Mrs. Bundy. At the time of her death in 1975 , Ethel was the oldest actress in the British theater, who continued to play on stage.
