Summer Atreides II (in other translation “Leto”, English Leto Atreides II ) is the second son of Muad'Dib and Chani . Emperor God, who ruled the Famous Universe for more than three thousand years. Summer is the son of Paul Atreides and his concubine, Fremen Chani . The twin Summer is his sister, Ghanima .

"Trout" covered his skin, and subsequently led to a mutation of the whole body. Summer turned into a giant sandworm for 3.5 thousand years. Only his death prevented the final metamorphosis. The new look of Summer made him virtually invulnerable to any type of weapon. After 3500 years, the human face was left out of humanity, delicate arms and fins, the rest of the body looked like a worm.
As a result of the prophetic gift, Summer saw the "Golden Path" (or the Golden Way) - the life of mankind as a whole - and sacrificed itself for the existence of people in the future. Managing the empire's key resource, the Spice, he ruled as a tyrant and embodied to him one well-known plan to preserve the Golden Path.

For the past hundreds of years, he carried with him a device made by craftsmen from the planet X. The device recorded all the feelings and thoughts of Summer II. Records were discovered several millennia after the death of Summer II.

- In the book Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar, Half-Life game designer Ted Beckman mentions that the inspiration for the huge, worm-like shape of the Counselor was inspired by Frank Herbert , Summer Atreides II from the book God the Emperor of Dune .
- Savage Circus wrote the song Legend of Leto II in 2009, narrating on behalf of Summer II himself, about thoughts about his life and his destiny.

The World of Fantasy magazine put Atredeis II Summer and his sister Ghanima in 4th place (out of 10) in the list of "The most ... the most fantastic twins" [1] .
