Biography
He graduated from the Petrograd Conservatory ( 1917 ), a student of Jacques Handshin . After the return of his teacher to Switzerland, he headed in 1920 - 1923 . the organ class of the Petrograd Conservatory, where his student was, in particular, Isai Braudo .
From 1923 he lived and worked in Latvia, headed the National Conservatoires in Daugavpils ( 1923 - 1929 ) and Riga ( 1929 - 1943 ), the Music College at the Latvian Conservatory ( 1945 - 1956 ). Since 1938 he taught at the Latvian Conservatory , since 1947 - professor. Among the students of Vanadzin, in particular, were Peteris Sipolnieks , Olgerts Tsintins , Aivar Kaleis , Evgenia Lisitsyna , Talivaldis Deksnis .
Brother Karlis Gerhards Vanadzins (1890-1965), a physician, graduated from the University of Derpt (1917) and until 1939 conducted medical practice in Cesis , simultaneously in 1922-1933. acting as mayor. With the end of World War II he emigrated to Sweden, died in Veksjo .
