Marikina ( Spanish: Mariquina ) is a commune in Chile . The administrative center of the commune is the city of San Jose de Marikina . The population is 7,790 people ( 2002 ). The city and the commune is part of the province of Valdivia and the region of Los Rios .

Location
The municipality is located 38 km northeast of the administrative center of the region of Valdivia .
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the commune of Tolten
- in the northeast - with the commune of Loncoce
- in the east - with the commune of Lanko
- in the south - with the communes of Mafil , Valdivia
In the west of the commune is the Pacific Ocean .

According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 18,582 people, of which 9,447 are men and 9,135 are women.
The population of the commune is 4.97% of the total population of the Los Rios region, 45.97% are rural and 54.03% are urban.
