Location

The village of Puerto Saavedra is located 72 km west of the administrative center of the region of the city of Temuco .

The commune borders:

  • in the north - with the commune of Caraue
  • in the east - with the commune of Caraue
  • in the south - with the commune of Theodoro-Schmidt

In the west of the commune is the Pacific Ocean .

Demographics

According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 13,736 people, of which 7,057 are men and 6,679 are women.

The population of the commune is 1.47% of the total population of the region of Araucania . 74.73% belong to the rural population and 25.27% to the urban population.
