The castle was built in 1283 - 1289 by order of Edward I of England .

For four years, working from March to October, 1,500 people erected a fortress and walls. Conwy Castle is surrounded by a stone wall with 8 round towers and loopholes. The castle towers are multi-story, their height is about 20 m. The courtyard is divided into 2 parts by a huge transverse wall. In one of the parts was a hall for receptions. The castle was abandoned for a long time and slowly collapsed.

The conui is rectangular in plan, although it looks concentric. The castle is divided into two courtyards - internal and external - and each of them is surrounded by thick walls with 4 towers in the corners. The towers are multi-story, their height is about 70 feet (20 m), diameter - 30 feet (about 10 m), wall thickness - 15 feet (about 4 m). Near the castle stands the Bodysgallen Hall, built in the 13th century as a clock tower of Konuy Castle to monitor the movement of the enemy from the north, as From the castle itself, visibility in this direction was difficult.

Only the walls of the castle have survived to this day, but even in this form they look quite impressive. From the height of the walls of Conwy Castle, you have a beautiful view of the town of Conwy, the homonymous bay and the green hills of Wales.
