Gavlichi is a Russian noble family. Their ancestor Kondraty Gavlich left Poland in 1678 for Little Russia; served in the Little Russian Cossack troops.

By the definition of the Governing Senate of May 17, 1855, the resolutions of the Yaroslavl noble parliamentary assembly on the inclusion of Colonel Ksenofont Pavlovich Gevlich (1792-1867) [1] into his second genealogical book [1] , according to his personal merits, were approved, together with his wife Anna Pavlovna and their children, sons: Alexander , Paul , Dmitry and daughters: Maria and Sophia . Included in the II and III parts of the genealogy of the Kursk, Kharkov and Yaroslavl lips.
Gevlich was formed on behalf of Hevel, which is the Hebrew and Polish counterpart of the biblical name Abel, which in Hebrew means "vanity."
Emblem Description
In a golden shield, scarlet band. There are three golden ears on it. Above the sling, at the top of the shield, a scarlet curved sword to the right. Under the band, the black horseshoe ends down.
The shield is crowned with a noble crowned helmet. Crest: silver bird Redstart to the right with a scarlet tail. Bait : on the right is scarlet with silver, on the left is scarlet with gold. (The Herbarium , XIII, 86).
