Traigen [1] ( Spanish: Traiguén ) is a city in Chile . The administrative center of the eponymous commune . The population is 14,140 people ( 2002 ). The city and the commune is part of the province of Maleco and the region of Araucania .

The territory of the commune is 908 km². The population is 18891 inhabitants (2007). The population density is 20.81 people / km².
Location
The city is located 54 km north of the administrative center of the province of Temuco and 51 km south of the administrative center of the province of Angola .
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the municipality of Los Sauces
- in the northeast - with the commune of Hercilla
- in the east - with the commune of Victoria
- in the south - with the communes of Galvarino , Perkenko
- in the west - with the commune of Lumaco
Demographics
According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 18891 people, of which 9400 are men and 9491 are women.
The population of the commune is 2.02% of the total population of the region of Araucania . 29.12% are rural and 70.88% are urban.
