Angol ( Spanish: Angol ) is a city in Chile . The administrative center of the eponymous commune and province of Maleco . The population is 43,801 people ( 2002 ). The city and the commune is part of the province of Maleco and the region of Araucania .

Location

The city is located 105 km north of the administrative center of the region of Temuco .

  • in the east - with the commune of Kolipuli
  • in the southeast - with the commune of Hercilla
  • in the south - with the municipality of Los Sauces
  • in the south-west - with the municipality of Puren
  • in the west - with the communes of Cañete , Los Alamos
  • in the north-west - with the commune of Kuranilue

According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 50.884 people, of which 24.559 are men and 26.325 are women.

The population of the commune is 5.43% of the total population of the region of Araucania . 10.66% are rural and 89.34% are urban.
