Whirlwind (transformer)

First appears as a character in the 2nd season of the series Transformers. About his past we only know that in his previous life, on Cybertron , he was one of the decepticons-traitors executed by order of Megatron . The next stage in the life of the Whirlwind, according to the chronology of the series, begins in 1985 , when the Scandalist, after another unsuccessful attempt to overthrow Megatron, was sent to the island of Guadalcanal in the Pacific Ocean . After modifying and improving the remnants of military equipment found there during the Second World War , he secretly flew to Cybertron, where he stole identification cards of five decepticon traitors, including the Whirlwind, from the prison vault. Using these cards, the Skandalist activated the transformers he created and called them action movies . He also gave them the ability to unite in gestalt , superior in strength to the Destroyer . The militants were supposed to help the Scandalist finally get the better of Megatron, and at first it seemed that this would happen, but in the end their gestalt was defeated at the hands of Megazavr .

After the suppression of the rebellion, the Whirlwind, along with the Skandalist and the rest of the militants, was exiled to the asteroid . He took part in the attack of militants on Cybertron, during which they killed many robots - the defenders of the planet and captured the Blast and Scandalist, as well as in a subsequent attempt to destroy the Earth with Megatron on it (and at the same time with all its inhabitants). However, with the help of Optimus Prime and the Autobots, Megatron managed to eliminate this threat, and the Skandalist helped defeat the Militant Gestalt, after which he received pardon from Megatron and was reinstated as commander of the Decepticon Aviation. The militants, including the Whirlwind, after reprogramming became subordinate to Megatron.

In the original Japanese version of the second part of the trilogy - the animated series " Superlink " - the name "Vortex" is the Decepticon, which forms one of the limbs of Grubikus Maximus . In the American version of this character, their name is Stormcloud.
