Son of violinist Umberto Bozz and his wife Honore Molina. He received his first lessons from his father at the age of five. He studied at the Paris Conservatory with Busset , Rabot and Capet , graduated with first prizes in the classes of violin ( 1924 ), conducting ( 1930 ) and composition ( 1934 ). In the same 1934, Bozza received the Roman Prize for the opera Legend of Rukmani. From 1938 to 1948, he conducted the Opera-Comedian Theater in Paris , then received the position of head of the National School of Music in Valenciennes , and held this position until 1975 .

The composer's legacy is very extensive, but in wide circles he is known primarily as the author of chamber pieces for wind instruments , marked by melodism, original harmonies and a good sense of the instrument's capabilities.
