Biography

Peter Weimarn was born in 1795 and in 1812 was promoted to second lieutenant in the Yelets Infantry Regiment , with whom he participated in the Patriotic War , in the battle of Borodin he was wounded and awarded a gold sword with the inscription "For Courage" . Having recovered from the wound and taking part in the Foreign Campaign of 1813 , Weimarn was in the battles of Bauzen and Neukirchen , for the differences in them he was promoted to the rank of assignment and awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree. In the campaign of 1814, Weimarn participated in the assault on Reims and Montmartre , for which he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree.

The appointment as adjutant to Dibich in 1816 was the beginning of the rapid rise of Weimarn: he was promoted to captain and transferred first to the Life Guards Semyonovsky , and then to the Life Guards Finnish Regiments; later renamed lieutenant colonels and appointed commander of the 1st naval regiment ; in 1823 he was promoted to colonel and in 1825 he was appointed commander of the 1st training carabiner regiment.

Upon the appearance of the Guards Corps in 1828, on a campaign against the Turks, Weimarn served for two years as chief of staff of the troops remaining in St. Petersburg , and was appointed an adjutant wing on January 1, 1829. Upon the return of the guard from the campaign, he was appointed chief of staff of the 2nd Infantry Corps and then assistant chief of staff of the guards corps.

Speaking in 1831 with the corps on a campaign against the Polish rebels , Weimarn participated in the battles of Ostroleka , Old Yakats, Zholty; for distinction, he was promoted to major general on May 29 with admission to the retinue and appointment as chief of staff of the guards corps. On August 25 and 26, 1831, he participated in the assault on Warsaw and was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree. On December 21, 1832 he was awarded the Order of St. George of the 4th degree (No. 4673 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).

For eleven years, Pyotr Fyodorovich Weimarn performed the named position, on August 30, 1834 he was appointed adjutant general , on December 6, 1840 he was promoted to lieutenant general and in 1842 he was appointed the duty general of the General Staff.

During the establishment of the Imperial Military Academy, Peter Fedorovich Weimarn was included in the list of indispensable members of its council. Rota was in charge of the palace grenadiers during the absence of the Minister of the Court of Prince Peter Mikhailovich Volkonsky from May 31, 1845 until his death on July 13, 1846.

Family

His brothers also gained fame: Ivan was a professor of tactics at the Academy of the General Staff, Alexander was a senator, Fedor was a major general and commanded a Training Carabiner Regiment.

Wife, Christina-Augusta von Lüder was the niece of M. B. Barclay de Tolly ; his son, Alexander , in 1859 adopted the name and title of his cousin's great-grandfather.
