Overall Biathlon World Cup

The overall standings of the Biathlon World Cup - the rating of biathletes by the sum of points scored by athletes in individual competitions of the World Cup and World Cup [1] [2] . The points earned in the individual race , sprint , pursuit and mass start are counted in the general classification. At the end of each biathlon season, the winner of the World Cup overall standings is awarded a certificate, a cash prize and the main biathlon trophy - the β€œCrystal Globe”. The current leader in the overall World Cup standings in competitions in a yellow T-shirt .

From the 2011/2012 season [3], when calculating the final rating, the two worst results are discarded - the results of the races for which the athlete received the least points [4] .

Race Scoring System

For each race held by a biathlete in the World Cup or World Cup (starting in 1995), the athlete receives a certain number of points depending on the place taken [11] . These points go both to the World Cup in the relevant discipline and to the overall World Cup.
