Auguste Laufer ( fr. Auguste Laufer ; March 18, 1861 , La Sarraz - June 1, 1918 , Walrus ) - Swiss composer .
Since 1872, he studied piano under the leadership of Karl Eshman-Dumur . From 1881 he began to teach himself at the Institute of Music in Lausanne (hereinafter - the Lausanne Conservatory).
Laufer's main work is a collection of Protestant chants “Psalms and Anthems” ( Fr. Psaumes et Cantiques ), on which he worked since 1900 ; this collection was published posthumously in 1926. Laufer also wrote a number of other songs and vocal compositions of a religious nature. Separately published his report “Music and Morality” ( French: La Musique et la Morale ; Neuchatel , 1905 ).
Among the students of Laufer was Henri Ganieben .
