Differential diagnosis (from lat. Differentia “difference”, “difference”) in medicine is a diagnostic method that excludes diseases that are not suitable for any facts or symptoms that are possible in a patient, which ultimately should reduce the diagnosis to the only probable disease.
Use of computer technology
There are computer programs that allow you to fully or partially conduct differential diagnostics.
Systems exist for diagnosing diseases such as schizophrenia , [1] Lyme disease [2], or associated pneumonia [3] . Programs exist such as QMR, DiagnosisPro, [4] and VisualDx [5] .
