Location

The village is located 65 km north-east of the administrative center of the region of Concepcion and 30 km north-west of the administrative center of the province of Chillan .

The commune borders:

  • in the north - with the Ninue commune;
  • in the northeast - with the commune of San Nicholas ;
  • in the southeast - with the commune of Chillan ;
  • in the south-west - with the commune Rankil ;
  • in the west - with the commune of Coelam ;
  • in the north-west - with the commune of Treguaco .

Demographics

According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 5,222 people, of which 2,678 are men and 2,544 are women.

The population of the commune is 0.26% of the total population of the Bio-Bio region. 66.81% refers to the rural population and 33.19% to the urban population.
