Chillon ( Spanish: Quillón ) is a city in Chile . The administrative center of the eponymous commune . The population is 7,285 people ( 2002 ). The city and commune is part of the province of Newble and the Bio Bio area .

Location
The city is located 53 km east of the administrative center of the region - the city of Concepcion and 35 km south-west of the administrative center of the province - the city of Chillan .

According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 15,475 people, of which 7,797 are men and 7,678 are women.
The population of the commune is 0.78% of the total population of the Bio-Bio region . 42.78% relate to the rural population and 57.22% to the urban population.
