Location
The village is located 86 km east of the administrative center of the region - the city of Concepcion and 42 km south of the administrative center of the province - the city of Chillan .
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the communes of Bulnes , El Carmen
- in the east - with the commune of Pinto
- in the south - with the commune Yungai
- in the south-west - with the commune of Cabrero
- in the west - with the commune of Cillon
Demographics
According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 9077 people, of which 4691 are men and 4386 are women.
The population of the commune is 0.46% of the total population of the Bio-Bio region . 56.86% relate to the rural population and 43.14% to the urban population.
