Biography
Born February 26, 1914 in Taganrog .
In 1923, the family moved to Poland [1] .
He studied at the Conservatory of the Krakow Musical Society as a violinist (with Arthur Malyavsky ); at the end of the conservatory ( 1938 ) remained to teach in it. In 1945 , he re-created the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra disbanded in connection with the Second World War in Katowice and led it for the first two seasons, then giving way to the pre-war orchestra leader Grzegožu Fitberberg . From 1950 to 1955 and again in 1958 - 1977 . Rovitsky headed the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (in the interval in 1957-1958 he led the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra ); He gave the orchestra more than 300 tour performances outside of Poland. Rovitsky recorded about 100 discs for Polish recordings, Philips and EMI labels.
