Biography

Born in the family of gold and watchmaking master Shai Peysakhovich (Alexander Pavlovich) Musician (? —1916) [1] . The elder brother is Yuri the Musician . Studies: Leningrad Institute of Screen Arts, graduated from Leningrad State University (1930).

Among his first films - “ Native Blood ”, staged in 1932, a drama about the contradictions in the Soviet village during the period of collectivization. The scriptwriter of the picture was A. A. Chiginsky [2] .

In 1934, together with the director Eduard Johanson , as the author of the script, he was busy working on the film “The Crown Prince of the Republic ”.

In collaboration with his brother, film director Yuri the Musician, he wrote the script and directed the military drama “ For the Soviet Homeland ”, based on the novel “ The Fall of Kimas Lake ” by Gennady Fish . The events in the film take place in 1921 on the Karelian-Finnish border. Starring such famous actors as Oleg Zhakov , Peter Aleinikov , Nikolai Kryuchkov , Nikolai Cherkasov and others [3] .

He was buried at the Preobrazhensky Jewish cemetery [4] .
