History

The village of Kegichyovka emerged in the second half of the 18th century from two small farms - Dobroivanovka and Yegorovka. These farms were inhabited by serfs who belonged to the landowner-officer E.I. Apostol-Kegich . From his last name comes the modern name of the village.

The subsequent development of Kegichevka is associated with the construction of the Lozovaya-Krasnograd railway in 1897-1905. At this time, Kegichyovka becomes a volost center.

Initially, the railway line Lozova-Krasnograd was supposed to pass through the village. Chapaevo , because at that time the sugar factory was already there. And only thanks to the merits of Baryn, the wife of Kegich, a branch was laid through Kegichyovka. Further economic development of Kegichevki is associated with this woman. She is building a brick factory and an elevator. Over the years, the elevator will be built up and converted into a club, which still stands today. And the mound with which the bread was loaded onto the wagons was leveled, and birches were planted in its place. Barynya herself was German. Perhaps after the revolution she emigrated to Germany.

The church was built in 1912 by brothers named Gnypy. One of them was called Gregory, hence the name of the church of St. George. The farm of these brothers was in the territory of the current veterinary clinic. The brothers were farmers, they cultivated a lot of beets and carried it on sah. plant.

In January 1918, the volost and zemstvo councils in Kegichyovka were dissolved.

Since 1923, the village of Kegichyovka is the center of the district, which since January 1935 has been part of the Kharkov region, and before that it was part of the Poltava region.

In 1957 it was transformed into an urban-type settlement.

As of January 1, 2019, the population was 5,928 people [3] .

In 1972, there was a construction products factory, an oil factory, a bread factory and an incubator station [2] .

In January 1989, the population was 7151 people [5]
