Ko e fasi ʻo e tuʻi ʻo e ʻOtu Tonga is the national anthem of Tonga . The anthem has been used since 1874 . Its official name is translated from the Tongan language as “Song of the King of the Islands of Tonga”. Words by Prince Wellingatoni Ngu Tupoumalohi, music by Karl Gustav Schmitt . The performance is used both in English and in Tongan, but the latter is official.
