Biography

In 1929 he graduated from a pedagogical college. After that, he worked as executive secretary of the Tuymazinsky regional newspaper “Lenin's Way”, head of the department of the newspaper “Bashkortostan” , in a book publishing house , executive secretary of the magazine “October” , head of the literary section of the Bashkir Drama Theater , in the Writers' Union of Bashkiria .

Bayazit Bikbai is a poet, playwright, prose writer and publicist. In 1932, his first collection of poems, Current Days, was released. Then came the books "Beyond the Forest", "Bright Earth".

During the years of World War II, for health reasons, he could not be at the front. But the military theme was voiced in his poetry collections “I praise the earth”, “Fiery lines”. During these years, he also created the drama "The Motherland Calls" ("Vatan saҡyra", 1943), "Children of the Same Family" ("Ber tuғandar", 1944) [2] .

Since 1937, he has been successfully working in drama, performing for the first time with the drama Karlugas. He wrote the plays "The Motherland Calls", "Children of the Same Family", and many one-act plays. A special place in his work is the libretto for musical theater.

Bayazit Bikbai is the author of about forty books, poems and poems, essays and short stories, libretto and plays, novels and the novel "When Axelian is bottled." He translated classical works of Russian literature by such authors as Tolstoy, Turgenev and Gorky.

For achievements in the development of Bashkir literature and art, Bayazit Bikbai was awarded the orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the Badge of Honor. In 1970, he was posthumously awarded the Salavat Yulaev Prize.

He died on September 2, 1968 . He was buried in a Muslim cemetery in Ufa .

Memory

Noting the merits of the Bashkir poet, playwright, prose writer and publicist Bayazit Bikbai, the executive committee of the city council of Ufa by his decision of March 1, 1984 named him a new street in the Oktyabrsky district of Ufa, in Sipailovo .

At house 47 on Lenin Street in Ufa, a memorial plaque in the Bashkir and Russian languages ​​is recalled: “In this house in 1959-1968. lived a prominent writer, laureate of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic Prize named after Salavat Yulaev, Honored Artist of the Republic Bayazit Bikbai. "
