Biography

Anton Petrovich Brinsky was born on June 10, 1906 in the Ukrainian village of Andreevka [1] into a peasant family.

In 1919 he went to the city of Kamenetz-Podolsky , worked in the forge [2] .

He graduated from 9 classes of general education and forestry school.

Consisted in CHON , participated in the fight against banditry [2] .

In 1926 he graduated from the Kamenets-Podolsk District Party School, in 1927 joined the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) [3] and was trained in the Kamenetz-Podolsk District Party School .

He worked as secretary of the Staroushytsky District Komsomol Committee and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Kamenets-Podolsky District of the Khmelnytsky Region .

In the service in the Red Army [4] since 1928.

The beginning of the Great Patriotic War met near Belostok with the commissar of the 59th reconnaissance battalion of the 2nd Byelorussian Red Banner Rifle Division. MV Frunze 1st Rifle Corps of the 10th Army of the Western Front.

He entered the first battle with the enemy on June 22, 1941 [2] , defended the Osovets fortress , covered the consolidated division at the head of the withdrawal of the 6th cavalry corps, and participated in an attempt to recapture the occupied Germans in the group of General Boldin .

Once surrounded, with eighteen fighters he turned to guerrilla warfare in the Vitebsk and Minsk regions. In October, he joined the detachment of paratroopers from the GRU GSh KA, headed by G. M. Linkov. Organized a number of squads. In May 1942, he passed 600 km along the enemy’s rear to places with a more developed network of railways. In the triangle of roads Pinsk - Baranavichy - Luninets deployed sabotage work, for the "exemplary organization" which in January 1943 was awarded the Order of Lenin . In November 1942, he raided the Western Ukraine , established contact with the underground workers and partisans of the Volyn and Rivne regions. By the new year 1943, he organized a special-purpose partisan brigade, and in August 1943, under the guise of the Directorate of the General Staff of the KA organized under the guise of a partisan detachment of demolition men, he organized an operational reconnaissance and sabotage center and headed it. In January 1944 awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel.

The GRU guerrillas, A.P. Brinsky, carried out about 5,000 sabotage on the territory of Belarus , Ukraine and Poland : over 800 echelons derailed, more than 500 vehicles were burned, 73 tanks were blown up, and about 100 bridges were blown up.

“For your heroic deed shown when performing a combat mission in the enemy's rear”, as stated in the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 4, 1944, Lieutenant Colonel Brinsky Anton Petrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 3349).

In March 1944, the sick Anton Petrovich was taken out of the enemy rear to Moscow. He returned to the army after the end of the war. In the postwar years, he served in the city of Gorky [2] .

In 1945 he graduated from the senior officers' courses of the commanding staff " Vystrel ", in 1952 - the courses of commanders of divisions.

Since 1955, Colonel A. P. Brinsky was in stock. He was a member of the Soviet Committee of War Veterans .

In retirement he was engaged in active literary activity, since 1961 he has been in the Union of Journalists of the USSR, since 1968 - in the Union of Writers of the USSR .

He died on June 14, 1981 in the city of Gorky . He was buried at the Bugrovsky cemetery .

  • Son: Anton Antonovich Brinsky (born in 1945) - retired colonel, Ph.D., Chernobyl , honorary veteran of Nizhny Novgorod.

The streets in Nizhny Novgorod and Lutsk (June 1, 2013, Brinsky Street in Lutsk were renamed Architect Metelnitsky Street), as well as the children's library and the House of Children's Culture in Nizhny Novgorod, bear his name. In the regional center Manevichi (Volyn, Ukraine), a bust is installed near the building of secondary school No. 2 named after him A. P. Brinsky - honorary citizen of the city of Lutsk since October 7, 1971.

At number 46 on the street. Georgian in Nizhny Novgorod, where he lived in 1946-1971, set a memorial plaque.

In the Central Archive of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the daughter of Valentina, a graduate of the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute, created the personal fund of A. P. Brinsky P-398 out of five inventory lists, 1878 cases.

A. P. Brinsky became the prototype of one of the young heroes of the story “The Old Fortress” by Vladimir Belyaev [2] .

In 2006, the Golden Star No. 3349 television movie was created for the 100th anniversary of A. P. Brinsky, and the publishing house Dyatlovy Gory published a compendium of books “Anton Brinsky: Pages of Life”, “ Publishing and Trading Center“ Mark ” ” for the 100th anniversary A. P. Brinsky released a postal envelope with his portrait [5] .

On August 29, 2018, by the decision of the Lutsk city council, the partisan commander, hero of the Soviet Union A. P. Brinsky was deprived of the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Lutsk. [6]
