Ozerny, Mark Evstafievich

Mark Evstafievich Ozerny ( 1890 - 1957 ) - a collective farmer- Stakhanovets , who in 1949 set a world record for corn productivity - 223.8 c / ha. With the "experience of the Ozerny" movement began on the widespread introduction of corn in Soviet agriculture.

Biography

Born on May 22 ( June 3 ), 1890 in the village of Mishurin Rog (now the Verkhnedneprovsky District , Dnipropetrovsk Region , Ukraine ). He spent his whole life there.

The experiments on increasing productivity were carried out in the Dnepropetrovsk region since 1925 in the laboratory for the selection of corn under the guidance of B.P. Sokolov . The first hybrids, "Firstborn" and "Success", Boris Sokolov created in 1932 . By the mid-thirties, the technology was introduced in some farms, one of which was the collective farm Chervoniy Partizan (Red Partisan), which Mark Evstafievich Ozerny joined in 1933 .

Link Ozerny learned to get high yields of corn grain on the cob: 108.3 kg / ha in 1937 , 120 kg / ha in 1939 and 1940 . Using inter-varietal hybridization , Ozerny developed the Partizanka corn variety (the name is given in honor of the native collective farm) and achieved further yield growth: 136 c / ha in 1946 (arid), 150 c / ha in 1947 , and finally 223, 8 kg / ha (on an area of ​​2 ha) and 175 kg / ha (on an area of ​​8 ha) in 1949 . The last indicator in all sources of that time was recognized as the world record for productivity.

The record glorified the collective farmer throughout the country, the former link became a famous person. Later, M. E. Ozerny was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR of 2–4 convocations. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1940 .

He died on December 27, 1957 . He was buried in his native village.

Rewards
