2000 Chess World Cup

World Cup 2000 - The 1st World Cup was held in Shenyang from September 1 to September 13, 2000 .

In the initial stage, 24 participants were divided into 4 groups; each of the 4 tournaments was played according to a round-robin system from September 1 to 5 . In the next round went the first two winners of each group. When dividing the seats, a tie-break was held on September 5.
