Curicó ( Spanish: Curicó ) is a city in Chile . The administrative center of the eponymous commune and province of Curico . The population is 149,136 people ( 2017 ). The city and the commune is part of the province of Curico and the Maule region .

Location
The city is located 63 km northeast of the administrative center of the Talc region.
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the commune of Teno
- in the northeast - with the commune of Romeral
- in the east - with the province of Mendoza ( Argentina )
- in the south-west - with the communes of Molina , Sagrada Familia
- in the north-west - with the commune of Rauco
Demographics
According to information collected during the census by the National Institute of Statistics, the population of the commune is 132,404 people, of which 65,123 are men and 67,281 are women.
The population of the commune is 13.58% of the total population of the Maule region. 16.67% relate to the rural population and 83.33% relate to the urban population.
