Public calls for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism is an act that is criminal in accordance with Article 205 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation . In addition to calls for acts of a terrorist nature (a terrorist act , hostage-taking , organizing or participating in an illegal armed formation , hijacking a ship of air or water transport or railway rolling stock , etc.), this article punishes the public justification of terrorism, which means a public statement recognizing the ideology and practice of terrorism as correct, in need of support and imitation.
