History
The settlement on the site of Aurillac existed by the 1st century. n e. .
In the 9th century , the life of Count Gerot (Herald) , subsequently canonized by the Catholic Church, was connected with Aurillac. Founded abbey with the sub-vassal Viscountry of Carlades .
