Galina Evgenievna Gorokhova (born August 31, 1938 , Moscow ) is a Soviet rapier fencer , and later a fencing coach, three-time Olympic champion and 9-time world champion .

Biography
She played for Dynamo (Moscow) .
In 1973, after the birth of her daughter, Galina Gorokhova again began to train and prepare to speak at the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, but got into a car accident, broke her arm and decided to end her sports career. In 1975, Galina Evgenievna agreed to return to sports, became the USSR state fencing coach and worked in this position until December 1992.
In 1991, G. E. Gorokhova, along with other famous athletes T. Press, L. Latynina, A. Vinogradov , T. Sarycheva , A. Kavazashvili, became one of the initiators of the creation of the USSR Athletes Union and was elected president of the Russian Union in the same year. athletes whose main task is the social protection of athletes and coaches.
22-time champion of the USSR (including 7 times in the individual competition).
Member of the CPSU since 1964. Candidate of Historical Sciences (1973). The dissertation on the topic "Cultural ties of the USSR with the countries of Western Europe at the present stage of 1965-1970."
Currently - President of the Russian Union of Athletes , member of the Executive Committee of the Fencing Federation of Russia , Chairman of the Board of the Interregional Public Committee of Veterans "Heroes of the Fatherland", Chairman of the Board of the Moscow Children's Center "Moscow Young", Member of the Council, Presidium and Council of Veterans of the IHO VFSO Dynamo.
