Apostolic Dataria

Apostolic Dataria ( Latin: Datāria Apostolica ) - a dicasteria (appeared around 1420 , in the pontificate of Pope Martin V , and possibly earlier) of the Roman Curia , from which all sorts of papal logs and mercies are sent besides the consistory . The case of the Apostolic Datarius was subject to minor beneficiaries , resolution of marriage ties, vows, etc.

At the head of the Apostolic Dataria was a cardinal pro-datarius; it is followed by the datarius governing the Dataria and several sub-datarios. Before the curious reform of 1908, Pope Pius X , at the head of the Apostolic Datarius was a cardinal pro-Danarius, Pius X reinstated the post of Datarius.

It was abolished on August 15, 1967 as a result of the curious reforms of Pope Paul VI .

Etymology

The name Datarius comes from the words written at the end of the papal decision: “ Datum Romae, apud S. Petrum ”.

At the head of the Apostolic Dataria

At the head of the Apostolic Datarius was Datarius - the chairman of the datarius, that is, the office of the Roman curia to decide cases of favors ( dispensations ). The dataria was of significance only to the preparatory instance; its decisions were subject to sanction by the pope. Often, the chairman of the datarius was called the proto-donator, and his assistant - the sub-donor.
