Shevelevo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Elninsky district . As of 2007, there is no permanent population [1] . It is located in the southeastern part of the region, 6 km southeast of the city of Yelnya , 5 km east of the R137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, 5 km south of the P96 Novoaleksandrovsky (A101) - Spas-Demensk - Yelnya - Pochinik roads, on the banks of the river Crowing. 4 km north of the village is the Kaloshino railway station on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line . It is part of the Mutishchensky rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was the site of fierce fighting and was twice occupied by Nazi troops. The first time in July 1941 (released during the Yelninsk operation ), the second time in October 1941 (released during the Yelninsk-Dorogobuzh operation in 1943 ). It was liberated by the 68th Army [2] [3] [4] .
