“Rostvertol” (Rostov Helicopter Production Complex “Public Joint-Stock Company“ Rostvertol ””) [5] is a Russian aircraft manufacturer and the aircraft building company of the Russian Helicopters holding of the Rostec state corporation, located in Rostov-on-Don . Content
History
The plant was founded on July 1, 1939 . In 1944, the plant began producing UT-2 M and Po-2 aircraft , which were widely used during the Second World War . Until the end of the 1940s, aircraft of a wooden construction with piston engines were manufactured.
In 1949, the company began mass production of Yak-14 airborne transport gliders with a capacity of 25 people. This is the first all-metal machine manufactured by the enterprise.
In 1954 - 1955, a turbojet aircraft , the Il-40 attack aircraft, was manufactured at the plant.
From 1955 to 1980, the head of the helicopter industry was D. M. Chumachenko , who was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor in 1971. He reprofiled the Rostov Aircraft Plant in difficult times for him to produce a fundamentally new type of product - helicopters.
The first-born of serial helicopter construction was the Mi-1 helicopter , created by a design team led by M. L. Mil . In 1956 - 1960, the plant produced 370 such machines.
In 1959, the plant mastered the production of the first heavy transport assault helicopter Mi-6 . The Mi-6 helicopter carried out work on the construction of bridges, installation of plant equipment, transportation and installation of drilling rigs, and other construction and installation works. The helicopter has been mass-produced since 1959 for more than 20 years. In 1964, the plant mastered the production of the Mi-10 heavy helicopter. The helicopter was created to transport bulky goods weighing up to 15 tons on a cargo platform. It has been manufactured in series since 1964 . The Mi-10 helicopter set several world records for lifting cargo. In 1974, a unique Mi-10K flying crane was created on the basis of the Mi-10 helicopter . Since 1971, the plant has been mass-producing Mi-24 combat helicopters, since 1977 - Mi-26 transport helicopters.
At the end of the privatization process on July 1, 1992, the Rostov Helicopter Production Complex was named Open Joint-Stock Company Rostvertol.
Owners and management
The main shareholders of Rostvertol as of December 31, 2015 were Helicopters of Russia JSC (73.95% of the outstanding shares), Oboronprom Military Industrial Complex JSC (21.98%), other shareholders (4.07%).
From 1980 to 2000, the plant was headed by Mikhail Nagibin , whose name was given to the former October Avenue in Rostov-on-Don.
From 2000 to 2014, the plant was headed by Boris Slyusar .

From 2014 to the present, the corporation is headed by the Managing Director - Petr Danilovich Motrenko . Since July 2017, the Chairman of the Board of Directors is A. E. Serdyukov .
Activities
Currently [ when? ] In addition to the mass production of transport helicopters Mi-26T and combat helicopters of the type Mi-24 ( Mi-35M ), the company mass-produces the combat helicopter Mi-28 , the modernized helicopter Mi-2A , preparations are underway for the serial production of the light training helicopter Mi-60 MAI .
PJSC Rostvertol includes a trade and exhibition center with a total area of more than 15,000 m² and an exhibition area of more than 8500 m². Annually, exhibitions are held here with the participation of foreign and Russian companies [7] .
In 2010, Rostvertol handed over 23 helicopters to customers (including 12 Mi-28N to the Russian Ministry of Defense, one M-26T to China (on lease), 10 Mi-35: four to Myanmar, three each to Indonesia and Brazil ), in 2009 - 16 helicopters [8] .
