Plescheevo lake (national park)

“Pleszczevo Lake” is a national park in the south-west of the Yaroslavl Region of Russia . Located in the territory of Pereslavsky district , in the central part of the East European Plain , in the basin of the Upper Volga .

The national park is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.

Content

History

It was founded on September 26, 1988 as the Pereslavl Natural Historical National Park by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of September 26, 2008 No. 400, which was under the jurisdiction of the Administration of the Yaroslavl Region and functioned as its structural subdivision. In 1998, the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 17, 1998 No. 777 Pereslavsky Natural-Historical National Park was renamed to the National Park “Plescheevo Lake” and declared a specially protected natural area.

Since 2000, the park has been under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. Currently subordinate to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation . The park includes Pleshcheyevo Lake and adjacent territories.

The total area of ​​the park is 23,790 hectares, including 15,271 hectares of forest land, 5,963 hectares of water resources, 554 hectares of agricultural land, as well as 2,000 hectares of lands of other land users. On the territory of the park there is one natural monument (Kriushkinsky spring), 26 monuments of archeology, two historical and two architectural monuments.

The main types of vegetation in the national park are forest and marsh (forests cover about 48% of the total area). The main forest-forming species are small-leaved ( aspen , birch ), and also dark coniferous ( spruce , pine ). Small areas are occupied by oak , linden , maple , ash , alder . Oakwoods occupy about 1% of the area. Here is the northern boundary of the range of English oak . The total flora of the park includes 790 species of plants belonging to 98 families ; nine of them are listed in the Red Book of Russia . A special group of 19 species is included in the regional list of rare and rare species for the center of the European part of Russia.

About 300 species of vertebrates live in the park: 60 species of mammals , among which are protected deer-maral , roe deer , flying squirrel , shrew-crumbs , 210 bird species, among which there are rare ones - gray heron , gray goose , whooper swan and the gray crane , ten species of reptiles and amphibians , 109 species of insects . 19 species of fish are found in the water bodies of the national park, of which 16 species are in Pleshcheyevo Lake, including the endemic form of the European whitefish - Pereslavlka cisco . More than 20 species of animals protected in the Yaroslavl region are noted. Among them are animals listed in the Red Book of Russia : white-tailed eagle , peregrine falcon , osprey , black stork , central Russian partridge , muskrat , mnemozina .

Near the town Kukhmar in the park there is an ecological trail “Gray Heron”. The ornithological route with a length of about one kilometer covers habitats of almost 50 species of birds. You can observe them by climbing to a six-meter observation tower or from an open observation deck, and you can get useful information about bird species using colorful information booths that are installed throughout the entire route [1] .
