It originates on the Vilyui-Lena watershed , flows in a wide valley. Power snow and rain. The average annual water consumption is about 40 m³ / s. Ice weather from October to mid-May.
Used for industrial water supply. In the basin of Ochchuguy-Botuobuya - diamond deposits.
On the river Ochchuguy-Botuobuya, at the confluence of the river Irelyakh , is located the settlement of Diamond .
