Yarkend ( Chinese 叶尔羌 河 ; Raskemdarya [1] in the upper reaches) is a river in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China . Inflow of the Tarim River. The average water flow rate is 170 m³ / s.

Length - 858 [2] km. The source is in the Karakoram glaciers from the Northern Remo glacier, takes the left tributary of the Sarykdarya , then flows along the northwestern edge of the Tarim Depression. In connection with the hot weather, it becomes very shallow in spring, sometimes dries up, and often changes its course. High water summer associated with melting snow in the mountains. The food is mostly snow.
Large tributaries of Yarkend are Kurchinbulak , Shamaldarya .
On the left arm of Yarkend is the Xiaosihaiji reservoir.
