Geography
Located on the southern coast of Sakhalin Island , 8 km north of the regional center of the city of Nevelsk .
The river Yasnomorka flows in the village .
History
Until 1945, it belonged to the Japanese governorate of Karafuto and was called Okoo ( 阿 幸 ) . After the transfer of South Sakhalin to the USSR, the village on October 15, 1947, at the suggestion of local residents, was given the modern name [4] . From 1946 to 2004, the village had the status of a working village [5] .
