History
Historically formed at the end of the 19th century from the Big Alma-Ata village to the Kargaly highway, later along the Small Alma-Ata gorge in connection with its economic development. On the avenue, lined with pyramidal poplars and partially landscaped sidewalks, the main buildings and structures of Verny were located : Gostiny Dvor, Public Assembly, post office and telegraph; in the mountains - mills, grits, a brewery and a candle factory, a hospital, summer cottages of Vernenets [1] . It was called “Kolpakovsky Street” in honor of the Russian general, one of the largest figures in the conquest of Central Asia by Kolpakovsky Gerasim Alekseevich .
During the years of the establishment of Soviet power, M. V. Frunze lived on the avenue, the city council visited M. I. Kalinin , the first party and public organizations of the city were created [1] .
In 1970, in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of V.I. Lenin , the memorial development of Lenin Avenue was completed. The reconstruction area, located in the southeast, was the link between urban development and the surrounding mountain landscape, the city center and areas of mass recreation for residents in the foothills of the Zailiysky Alatau , the new Medeo sports complex. Thanks to the highway, reconstructed in a very rugged terrain, along Lenin Avenue, it became possible to climb almost to the glaciers (3100 m). On the avenue, extensive kurdoners and squares in front of the high-rise hotel "Kazakhstan", the Republican Palace of Pioneers, the House of Political Education of the Alma-Ata Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, and the Palace named after V. I. Lenin were created. The location of the objects at the intersection with Abay Avenue and the square named after L. I. Brezhnev laid the foundation for the creation of one of the main urban development nodes of the city. The memorial complex brought to life was designed by architects T. K. Basenov, V. Sh. Gershberg, A. I. Petrov, N. I. Ripinsky and others [2] .

The exposition of the museum is constantly replenished due to finds of archaeological expeditions from all over Kazakhstan . The exhibits are located in four departments of the museum in chronological order and tell about the development of human society in the region from ancient times to the late Middle Ages [3] .
Linguistic gymnasium No. 35 (Dostyk, 59, corner of Zhambyl street).
Hotel "Kazakhstan" (Dostyk, 52, corner of Kurmangazy street). Built in 1977 for 1000 seats [1] . For the first time in the Soviet Union, in a nine-point seismic zone, a 25-story building was constructed without the usual scaffolding, using the sliding formwork, using hydraulic elevators. A solid reinforced concrete trunk (the core of the building) is mounted on a massive slab of 40 × 60 m, 180 cm thick. All floors of a high-rise building are as if strung on this trunk. Shortly before the completion of the construction, a rigorous seismic test was conducted here. A special machine mounted on top of the building simulated an earthquake with its vibrations, and special sensors on the floors recorded tremors. Seismic stability was confirmed in 1979 , during a five-magnitude earthquake. For the architecture of the building of the high-rise hotel "Kazakhstan", its authors (Yu. G. Ratushny, L. L. Ukhobotov, A. Deev, N. Matviyets, A. Tatygulov, M. Abduldinova, V. Krasnyansky) were awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR Chokan Valikhanov in 1980 . The height of the building is 102 m, from 1977 to 2008, the hotel was the tallest building in Almaty . Annually receives about 300 thousand guests [3] .

Lenin, was opened during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin . The team of the creators of the palace (V. Yu. Alla, V.N. Kim, Yu. G. Ratushny, N. I. Ripinsky, A. G. Sokolov, L. L. Ukhobotov, etc.) was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1971 year . The volumetric and spatial composition of the building includes its internal volumes, freely located under a single powerful roof (area of 10 thousand m²). The “tent” of the roof rests on 8 reinforced concrete supports, and the wall envelopes that do not reach the bottom of the roof give the impression of its hovering in the air. The auditorium with 3000 seats, decided by a single amphitheater, without balconies and tiers, is the central place of the entire composition of the palace. The color scheme of the hall consists of white (ceiling), golden (wall) and red (armchairs). The layout of the lobby and the foyer of the palace used a combination of multifaceted space of various levels, creating a single whole with the help of an intermediate level of the main entrance and grand staircases encircling the foyer from 3 sides. The main foyer (13 m high) is decorated with a snow-white chandelier. The decoration of the lobby and foyer reflected the national character of the structure (drawings of fencing lines, marble floors, etc.) [1] .

The core of the composition is a celebration hall crowned by a dome, to which all groups of rooms of the palace adjoin. The main motives for solving interiors are the softness of the outlines and the light saturation of the ceilings. Spacious alleys and platforms in front of the building provide for the possibility of holding mass events in the open air. The building is designed for simultaneous visits to 2200 students. There is an auditorium (800 seats), rooms for classes in circles, gyms, an observatory [1] .
