Tracking programs ( eng. Tracking software ) - programs that mark and record actions performed on the computer . These programs include the so-called keylogers - these programs record all keystrokes. As well as network filters that register visits to sites.
Windows Vista comes with a similar Parental Control feature.
As a rule, three main groups are interested in using them:
- parents who want to be sure of the absence of unwanted Internet activity of children ( Parental Control );
- employers monitoring the activity of company -owned workstations (e.g. Data Leak Prevention );
- users who do this illegally, for example, on the instructions of criminal structures or in order to collect information ordered by the marketing department of a company.
