Biography
Born in Moscow in the family of Alexander Alekseevich and Maria Alekseevna Korenevs, prosperous at that time. My father served as the head of the financial department of the Moscow City Council , he himself came from the family of an official of the city government; among his ancestors were also famous Yaroslavl merchants of the 1st guild of the Sobolevs, which had to be hidden after the revolution . Maria Koreneva (Remin's girlhood) was an employee, also worked in the financial sector, grew up in a wealthy, but later ruined Moscow family - her father, the owner of several shops, drank and squandered all his fortune after his wife's sudden death [2] [3] .
Korenev studied at the same school as Oleg Efremov , together they studied in the drama circle [3] . In 1951, Korenev graduated from the directing department of VGIK . He studied in the workshop of Igor Savchenko , on the same course with such well-known future filmmakers as Alexander Alov , Vladimir Naumov , Sergey Parajanov , Heinrich Gabai , Felix Mironer , Yuri Ozerov , Marlene Khutsiev . Parents wanted Alex to become a naval engineer, and the choice of the profession of a director was not approved [2] .
He worked as the second director in the paintings of Eldar Ryazanov's “ Carnival Night ” (1956), “ Give the Complaint Book ” (1964) and “ Watch Out for the Car ” (1966). In Beware of the Car, Korenev also played the cameo role of a "curious" buyer in the commission of Dima Semitsvetov .
As a director, he made his debut in 1959 with the lyrical comedy " Black Sea ", which the Soviet press criticized "for bourgeois frivolity." Korenev removed his next painting, A Literature Lesson , based on Victoria Tokareva ’s story “A Day Without Lies,” only 10 years later, but it was immediately put on the shelf as ideologically harmful [2] .
The television film “ Taimyr Calls You ” (1970) based on the play of the same name by Konstantin Isaev and Alexander Galich received good reviews, but after a few years he was removed from the air due to the emigration of Galich [2] . In the film, the director’s daughter Elena Koreneva also made her debut in one of the main roles.
Korenev gained wide fame after the release of the television series "The Big Change " (1972-1973), filmed based on the story of George Sadovnikov's "I am going to people." Audience recognition was the lyrical comedy " For family reasons ", filmed in 1977 based on the play by Valentin Azernikov "Options are possible, or For family reasons." The ironic detective Trap for a Lonely Man (1990), based on the play of the same name by Robert Tom, was also a success.
With the collapse of the Soviet film industry, the director was left without work. To feed his family, he wrote articles in TV PARK , selling newspapers and magazines in transitions. Then he began to drink. Soon he caught a cold and fell ill with bilateral pneumonia [3] .
Alexei Korenev died in 1995 from a heart attack when he was undergoing treatment in a hospital. He was buried in a family-family burial at the Vagankovsky cemetery [4] .

Anatoly Mukasey , cameraman, People's Artist of the Russian Federation:
... I was amazed how Lesha was able to create an atmosphere on the set. This is very important, especially for comedy.
... Leshin and the film crew, the power engineer is coming from the screen. It doesn’t matter from the big screen in a movie theater or on television. Because what was laid down there, what was invented by everyone - and the actors, and basically, of course, Lyosha - it is surrendered, everything falls into our souls. Lesha is happiness.
