The son of a surgeon. Studied in Vienna and Munich . Since 1878 - professor at the Munich Academy of Arts . Known primarily as a teacher. Franz Marc , Albert Weissgerber , Ernesto de Fiori , Wilhelm Toni , Celestine Medovich , Marcos Zavitsianos , Walter Firle and others studied with Hackle .
